Young People

Children and young people are valued members of our church community. They are welcome to consider becoming altar servers, or to sing in the Junior Choir.

Junior Church
Junior Church takes place during our 10am Sunday Service. Children begin the service with their families and friends in the main church, then go downstairs to the crypt for their activities. They are brought back in time for the Eucharist.
Junior church includes stories, activities and games enabling young people to make friends, learn about the Bible, prayer and growing in faith.

All Age Eucharists
At 5pm on the third Saturday of each month we have an informal Family Eucharist. All are invited to contribute if they wish: reading, singing in the Junior Choir, or as altar servers. The first Sunday of each month is a light touch Sung Eucharist, involving young people.

smALL Saints
smAll Saints meets weekly on a Friday morning at 10.30am in the church.  It is a service designed for the very young and their parents and carers.  Ages range from new-born babies to 5 years old.  Sometimes older siblings come along and they are very welcome.  We begin by ringing the bell and then gather in a circle to pray, listen to a story and sing lovely songs.  Stories are usually from the Bible, folk tales, about one of the Saints or we think about the seasons of the church year.  At the end of the service, we gather in the North Aisle for refreshments (tea and coffee for adults and soft drinks for the children), fun activities such as crafts, making bread or enjoying the church garden if the weather is fine.

At Christmas we have our own smAll Saints nativity and will also mark Easter in some way.  In July we have a sports day in the vicarage garden, and have often had a special trip out to visit Southwark Cathedral.

If you would like more information, contact Becky – or just come along and see!

Young People
Our 11 – 18 year olds are involved in our services. We plan social events such as pizza and bowling, fireworks, cinema trips and barbecues.
